Features

Cuckoo Sounds on Each Hour & Half Hourly accompanied with a bell sound.

The “cuc-koo” sound is created by two  bellows (pipes) in the clock, the clock’s movement activates the bellows to send a puff of air into each pipe alternately when the clock strikes.

  • On the side of the cabinet there is a Lever  by which the cuckoo sound is switched off manually.
  • Cuckoo clock cabinet, dial, pendulum and hands are handcrafted, made of Black Forest German Pine Wood.
  • There are 2 weights made of cast iron in a pine cone shape ,weighing 275gm each.
  • The length of suspended chains is 6 feet.
  • There are 2 chains, one for the time & one for the cuckoo.
  • The clock is wound every 24 hrs. This is done by pulling the free end of the chains and assisting the weights to raise them back to the top.
  • All our Black forest German cuckoo clocks come with a VDS Certificate of Authenticity and  2 years international warranty against manufacturing defects.
CARE & MAintenance

Regular Winding:

  • Frequency: Depending on your clock, you’ll need to wind it daily (1-day models) or weekly (7-day models).
Regular winding ensures the clock runs smoothly.
  • Technique: Assist the free end of chain to wind the clock gently. Avoid rough winding, as this can damage the mechanism.

Cleaning:

  • Dusting: Use a soft, dry paint brush to remove dust from the clock’s surface and around the mechanisms.
  • Avoid Moisture: Never use water or cleaning solutions on the clock, as moisture can damage the wood .

Professional Servicing:

  • Frequency: Schedule a professional service every 3-4 years for a thorough cleaning and maintenance check.
  • When to Oil: Every 3 years to ensure the gears operate smoothly and quietly. If the clock starts ticking irregularly, it may need oiling.
  • Do not self-lubricate or use oils. This is professionally done with use a specialized clock oil with a precision applicator.

Check for Level:

  • Installation: Ensure the clock is hung straight using a level. An uneven clock can lead to inaccuracies in timekeeping and may cause the pendulum to malfunction.
  • Adjustment: If you notice irregular ticking or cuckoo sounds, check the clock’s positioning and adjust as necessary.

Monitor the Pendulum:

  • Free Swinging: Ensure the pendulum swings freely without hitting any obstructions. This is crucial for maintaining accurate time.
  • Adjustment: If the clock runs too fast or too slow, you can adjust the pendulum’s length. Shortening it will make the clock run faster, while lengthening it will make the clock run slow.

Additional Tips

  • Listening: Pay attention to the sound of the clock. If it starts making unusual noises (grinding, irregular ticking), it may need professional servicing sooner.
  • Education: Familiarize yourself with the specific model of your cuckoo clock.
